Your contract is with The Crown at Ampney Brook and Wild Thyme & Honey in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
Please read our Terms & Conditions carefully as you will be bound by them.
We require your credit card details to guarantee all reservations. We will not charge your credit card until departure but will require a swipe of the credit card upon arrival*. When your booking is complete, you will be issued a confirmation number. Please bring this confirmation number with you when you check-in. The persons named in a booking must be the persons who actually will be staying.
*Please be aware, for room reservations booked during Cheltenham Races (14 - 18 March 2022), full payment will be taken at the time of booking. Reservations made during these dates are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If cancelled up to 2 pm, 3 days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled after 2 pm, 3 days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival, or in case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation booking will be charged. Group Cancellation Policy (applicable on bookings of 5 rooms or more)
Group reservations can be cancelled without charge up to 8 weeks prior to the date of arrival. Full payment for group bookings is required 8 weeks prior to the date of arrival. Reservations cancelled or amended within 8 weeks to the date of arrival will incur the full charge of the total reservation booking including any taxes, please note these charges cannot be transferred to another date. These cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card that was given to secure the booking. To make a cancellation please email your request to email@example.com
You may check-in between the hours of 3 pm and 10 pm. We do ask you to check out before 11 am.
In the event that a guest checks out prior to the booked date of departure, then full reservation charges will apply.
All rates include VAT (and local taxes) at the current rate. Rates are per room, per night, inclusive of breakfast. All rates are non-commissionable. Rates quoted are correct only for the specific number of guests, nights and dates as shown. Should you change the number of guests, dates or room nights, please note the rates will be subject to change. All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid debit/ credit card.
Bedroom Packages and Experiences
We have designed thoughtful packages that enhance your experience with carefully chosen gifts and unique added extras; from romantic stays to our popular seasonal escapes and more. Please note the following terms & conditions:
This package is based on a 2-night minimum stay, valid Mon-Sun until 24/03/22. This package is inclusive of a two-night stay in an Ampney Hills Room (supplements are available for alternative room types), a welcome drink on arrival*, a £100 credit towards dinner each night, and a freshly prepared breakfast each morning.
Should you need to cancel your reservation for a Winter's Break stay, please note, if cancelled up to 2 pm, 3 days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled after 2 pm, 3 days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival, or in case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation booking will be charged. To make a cancellation please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. This package is not commissionable and is only available by booking directly.
*You are welcome to choose a Welcome Drink from the following choices: Wild Thyme & Honey Cocktail or any Mocktail, any keg, cask or bottled beer, a glass of house wine, any soft drink.
Please note a 12.5% discretionary service charge for all food and beverages consumed will be added to your bill. This service charge is shared amongst the full team.
Weddings & Event Deposits, Attrition and Cancellations
When confirming a private event, function, conference or party, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required to guarantee the date. Full pay and final numbers are required 1 month prior to the date.
When confirming a wedding, a £500 deposit is required to guarantee the date. A 50% deposit will be required 6 months prior to the event, with the remaining 50% payment, and final numbers required 6 weeks prior to the date.
Please note, we allow up to 20% attrition (reduction) in final numbers, no later than 14 days prior to the event date.
6 months prior to the confirmed event, should you cancel, you will incur the loss of the initial, non-refundable deposit.
Within 3-6 months of the confirmed event, should you cancel, you will incur charges of 50% of the full value of contracted items, including agreed food and drink packages.
Less than 3 months prior to the confirmed event, please note you will incur charges of 100% of the full value of contracted items, including agreed food and drink packages.
No Smoking policy
Please be advised that, in line with British law, we operate a strict No Smoking and No Vaping policy throughout all areas of Wild Thyme and Honey, and The Crown at Ampney Brook. We ask that you please be respectful and head outside into the fresh Cotswold air, should you wish to indulge in either of these past times
In the rare case that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we cannot deliver your requested accommodation, we will endeavour to find you alternative accommodation. Our liability will not extend beyond this.
Please note, we will require a credit card to guarantee advance bookings. We accept both credit cards and cash payments, cheques are no longer accepted. Please note, payment is taken on departure, except for bookings made for stays during the Cheltenham Races, 14 - 18 March, when full payment will be taken at the time of booking. We accept the following payment cards: Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Maestro and Solo.
Here at Wild Thyme & Honey, we believe that your dogs are as worthy of our attention and service as you yourselves are – and so we assign a small number of special dog-friendly rooms especially for guests with dogs to stay in.
As an animal-loving team, we welcome all dogs in our hotel, with just one exception: we cannot accommodate untamed pets. To make your furry friend’s stay as special as yours, our housekeeping team will prepare your room with a dog bed, bowl, blanket and Bramley’s ‘Digby Dog House’.
Digby Dog House comes with 100ml Digby Dog Wash & Two Bedtime Calming Dog Biscuits. The perfect present for the four-legged friend in your life. Made with the finest essential oils and natural botanicals, the mild Digby shampoo is kind to your dog’s coat and gentle on your hands, perfect for washing away a day of play.
Please note the following T&C’s relating to bringing your pets for an overnight stay.
- We have a limited allocation of bedrooms that can accommodate small/ medium-sized dogs. Guests therefore must advise us at the time of booking (please call directly, as individual room requests cannot be accommodated via our online booking portal) if you wish to bring a dog. Unless you are specifically booked into a room where dogs are permitted, you may not have a dog in our bedrooms. This is because, whilst we love dogs, some guests do not and may have sensitive allergies.
- Well behaved dogs over 1 year may share their owners’ room for an additional fee of £30 per night, inclusive of VAT. This fee covers the additional anti-allergic deep clean that will take place upon departure.
- Your dog must not be left alone in the bedrooms at any time. When dining with us, you are welcome to bring your dog with you to the pub’s designated dog-friendly dining areas but, we do ask that your dog be well trained in public areas where food is being served.
- Staff are not permitted to care for your pet during your stay e.g., feeding/ walking.
- Please ensure your dog is always kept on a lead when in public areas of The Crown at Ampney Brook and Wild Thyme & Honey.
- We appreciate accidents can happen; therefore, we ask that you let us know if any accident occurs. Any damage to the room caused by your dog will be assessed by our Duty Manager and any cost incurred will be charged to your card.
- We do politely request that guests control and manage noise made by their pets during their stay, especially in the evenings and overnight, to ensure it does not disturb other guests.
- Please take particular care when taking your dogs outside of the building and keep them on a lead until you feel it is safe to remove them, as there is a main road nearby.
- We reserve the right to review our accommodation commitment should disturbances continue to other guests occur.

Acceptance of Children
Children of all ages are welcome.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying on our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you or your party may cause to the accommodation or its contents. We ask that you report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant and we may make an additional charge if you did not report breakages or damages.
We do not accept liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
